On December 2, 2015 I took 40 students on an art outing for the day. We started the day off at CAM, Contemporary Art Museum in downtown Raleigh, NC. Featured Artist, Sarah Cain: The Imaginary Architecture of Love, was very inspirational in teaching my students to play, explore, and have fun with art. I learned a lot as well. My students even got to play and create in Sarah Cain style. Then we ventured on a walk through the city to Visual Art Exchange and the 311 Art Gallery where we viewed many works of art by local artists. Next we hiked 5 more blocks to Artspace. Now this was an adventure with 40 teens! I was nervous, yet proud they were so mature while getting through stop lights, businesses, and traffic. I was so glad to see Artspace! We were greeted and learned about the Artists and their studio spaces. Then we all had an hour to go off on our own and tour the studios talking to artists. Amazing artful, exhausting day! We had a great time!
