Sculpture & Ceramics II
Prerequisite: S/C I
Sculpture/Ceramics II is a continuation of some hand-building techniques with variety of 3-D media and a more focus on wheel thrown advanced techniques in clay. It will include sculpting, carving, etc. Focus on creative approach to each project, starting with artist research, sketches for planning construction of pieces, and artist behavior self reflections.
Students in this Honors Level course will compose a digital portfolio website using collected data from all project areas over the semester. The student website is a large portion of their final exam.

PROJECT 1(bowl set) & 2 (cylinder vase) ARTIST RESEARCH AND VISUAL JOURNALS- (students may not start hands on creation until the END IS IN MIND! You must have a plan!)
Week 2-3: Bowls Due Wednesday 1/28
Wheel Thrown Bowls (2 small, 2 medium, 1 large unique Bowl)
Week 3-4: Cylinder Vase Due Tuesday 2/3
Wheel Thrown Cylinder Vase (using additive or subtractive technique in leather hard stage)
DUE DATES: 2/2/15 Monday!
PROJECT 3 (Lidded Vessel) & 4 (Mug Set) ARTIST RESEARCH AND VISUAL JOURNALS- (students may not start hands on creation until the END IS IN MIND! You must have a plan!)
Week 4-5: Lidded Vessel Due 2/10 Tuesday
Wheel Thrown Lidded Vessel with handles (using additive or subtractive and textured pattern)
Week 5-6: 1 Mugs Due 3/4 Wednesday
Wheel Thrown mug with pulled handles (Must have a theme)
MidTerm Exam (Week of March 2-6)
